Lee’o Tilton Housden III

Lee’o Tilton Housden III “Tilton” of Aubrey, Texas, born April 5, 1983. Funeral services will be held at Low Gap Church in Low Gap, Ark. on Dec. 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Caspian Flower Shop is accepting out-of-state orders, 870-741-4693. Services will be conducted by Coffman Funeral Home.

 

Rachel B. Calvert

Rachel B. Calvert, 75, of Denton, passed away on Dec. 23, 2008 at Senior Care Center. Arrangements are pending with the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home.

 

 

Lois Ann Vest

Lois Ann Vest, 94, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Mrs. Vest was born September 5, 1914 in Buffalo Hart, Illinois to Curtis and Fatima (Banta) Johnston. She was married to John Russell Vest, Jr. on July 27, 1932 in Lafayette County, Arkansas, (he passed away February 1958). She worked for many years as a houseparent at the Denton State School. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Denton.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the First Assembly of God in Denton. Rev. Harvey Junker will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2008, at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Interment will be at Wild Rose Cemetery in Webb City, MO.

She is survived by her daughters, Caroline Vaughn of Aubrey, Patricia Vest of Denton, and Priscilla Wederstrandt of Argyle; sons, Floyd Russell Vest of Denton, Julius Vest of Lufkin, James E. Vest of Las Vegas, NV, and John R. Vest of Denton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Day

Elizabeth “Betty” Day, 81, and formerly of Ouray, Colo., passed away Monday afternoon, Dec, 22, 2008 at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colo. A Memorial Service in celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. The service will conclude at the chapel. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ouray, Colorado. Survivors include her daughters, Maureen and Mack Wilcox of Aubrey, Texas, Kathleen Schneider of Maryland, Debbie and Rick Dorgan of Daphne, Alabama, Michele and Tom Tallman of Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Marie Pilate

Elizabeth Marie Pilate, 57, of Denton passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 at her residence. She was born June 9, 1951 in Davenport, IA to Francis and Mary Lou Temple Downey. She was a member of Agape Church in Santa Monica, Calif.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by her daughter, Renae Hozak and husband Kevin of Denton; son, Andre Pilate-English and wife Natese of Denton; sister, Teri Rheault and husband Frenchy of Denton, Peggy Windsor and husband Jerry of Eaton, Colo.; brothers, Don Downey of LeMoore Calif., Mike Downey and wife Mariah of Broken Bow, Okla., Harley Downey of Justin, Pat Downey and wife Darci of Mascoutah, Ill., Tom Downey and wife Teressa of Denton, Tim Downey of Dallas and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Medical Center of Lewisville to the Oncology Department in her name쇓

 

Col. Kenneth Ray Clampitt

Colonel Kenneth Ray Clampitt went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. He was born on October 11, 1934 in Valley View, Texas, to Marshall and Opal Clampitt.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty; his daughters and son-in-laws, Vickie and Ed Ewell, and Donna and Keith Raney; and son and daughter-in-law Dewayne and Holly Clampitt. He loved and cherished his 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Les and Roger Clampitt; three sisters, Nita DeBerry, Betty Nichols and Brenda Hackler; and many extended family members and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis; his sister, Martha Kay Clampitt; great-granddaughter, Syrianna Ewell Torres; and his parents.

Kenneth was a very talented and sought-out cattle auctioneer for over 50 years, one of the founders and active supporters of the Denton County Youth Fair, a 34-year AA member, a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and the greatest Pop in the world.

Visitation will be Friday, December 26, 2008, from 10-11:30 a.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steve Plunkett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for donations to be sent to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Oak, Denton, TX 76201, to the Kenneth Clampitt Memorial Fund.

Kenneth, Dad, Pop, Colonel and Bud, we will all greatly miss you. You have led an honorable life, and you have been an example and an inspiration to many. You have been the best and we love you.

The family would like to send our most sincere thanks to Dr. Charles Grodzin, Dr. Paul Barrus, Dr. Daniel Caldwell and their staffs. Also thanks to Choice Medical and the staff of Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. A special heartfelt thank you goes out to the ICU nurses and staff. Your loving care was unbelievable and you will always be in our hearts.
