Sloppy governance
The general business practices of the city of Denton truly leave a lot to be desired. The idea of paying for services rendered is strained when residents reluctantly write a check each month while knowing that they are not getting their money’s worth.
The city of Denton drainage department can’t get it right; there are areas of this town that flood, and no solutions have been made.
The electric department can’t either, since we experience brownouts each and every month with no public explanation or repairs made. We’ve just gotten used to coming home to flashing clocks. I personally have gotten pretty quick at resetting every electric appliance in my home, as practice does make perfect.
It’s almost as much fun as avoiding being rear-ended on Loop 288 in an attempt to navigate through the construction chaos that has drawn out for much too long. Something tells me that the business owners along that path who have closed their doors due to this mess would be a little more hostile than myself.
Congratulations, however, to the city billing and accounts receivable departments, respectively.
I always receive the bill and you haven’t failed to cash a check yet.
Jeff Baker,
Denton
