Letters to the editor

Scattershooting

• Mr. Stodola (Letters June 14): If President Obama (June 9) “… is working night and day to solve ever-worsening problems,” explain the Obamas’ dinner and a show on Manhattan Island and/or Paris?

• Lainey Black (May 24): Prefer Mr. Cheney’s “I told you so,” rather than expressing his reservations now about Obama’s relaxing policies that kept us safe?

• Mr. Poe: The “power of the X-ray” factor must have been a CT or CAT scan the bean counter at the HMO wouldn’t authorize for me. Cervical surgery using only an ordinary X-ray going in is a malpractice suit waiting to happen.

• Mr. Rose (June 7): “I have never felt more freedom than what President Obama has done and will do for us.” You’ve been seduced by the ultra-liberal mantra that Uncle Sugar will take care of you from the womb to the tomb.

• Jervis Underwood (June 6): I would have set the recorder, slept in, then viewed President Obama read to the world what his teleprompter was telling him to say. Waking up at 5 a.m. for that live was something, I guess.

• Sharon Dahl (April 3): “We paid Canadian income tax and lived with the horror of socialized medicine.” Please write a letter and enlighten the Garner types (May 22) on this forum what they’re really in for.

• Mr. McClelland (June 7): “... the millions of people in this country who cannot afford basic health care. …” Yet $180 a month for Marlboros and $30 a month for candy?

It must be that “womb to the tomb” thingy again.

Roger T. Horrell,

Denton

Census error

The Census Bureau is wrong when it lumps all South Americans together as a “race.” Just because South Americans speak Spanish does not mean that they are all one “race.”

Cruz A. Mattei,
