09:10 AM CDT on Thursday, May 15, 2008

North Texas shortstop Katya Muller and TWU sophomore outfielder Billie Callahan were both named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team this week.

Muller was named to the first team after hitting .298 as a senior, when she became the Mean Green’s all-time leader in hits (222) and runs scored (122). She was a first-team selection on the All-Sun Belt Conference team for the second straight season.

Callahan also hit .298 with 12 doubles and 21 RBIs in addition to scoring 18 runs and was a member of the second team. She was also a member of the Lone Star Conference South Division All-Academic team.

Muller will now be included on the Academic All-America ballot after being named to the first team.
