One of my current projects is to learn more about my fellow golfers. We particularly want to know your opinion of how we are providing you recreational golf news.

You can tell us by completing the DRC Golfer Survey 2008. Log in to our Web site at www.dentonrc.com/sports/golf and look for the golf ball. Click on it to be taken to the survey. The amount of time required to complete the survey is about 5-8 minutes.

As a thank you for completing the survey, you will automatically be entered into a drawing. We are giving away six free boxes of Nike golf balls sponsored by www.WeatherToGolf.com  .

One winner will be selected each month beginning in April and ending in September. The survey can only be completed once and all eligible entries have the opportunity to be selected as a winner only once.

Winners must agree to come in person to the Denton Record-Chronicle at 314 E. Hickory St.

For those of you that have received our e-mail invitation and have already completed the survey, thanks. You are entered in the drawing and have six chances to win a box of Nike golf balls. We also encourage you to forward the email to all your golfing partners, or direct them to our Web site.

To improve our reporting of golf happenings at our area courses we also have a survey for golf courses and golf facilities. An e-mail invitation to complete the survey is being sent to each area facility, but if you are a staff member or owner of a course, driving range, practice center, and have not received it send me an e-mail and I’ll get one to you.

We want you to send us newsworthy notes about your facility relating to changes and improvements, scheduled tournaments, winners of tournaments, announcements for special play days, new course low scores, holes in one, double eagles, tour professional visits, golf association activities and news, information about membership, professional awards received by your staff members, etc.

Denton Area Golf Association Feb. results

The Denton Area Golf Association individual stroke play tournament was held Feb. 16 at the Texas Woman’s University Golf Course.

Results: Championship Flight, gross score- 1. Randy Brittain, 75; 2. Tim Belcher, 78. Net score- 1. Marion Johnson, 68; 2. Ed Perkins, 72. First Flight, gross score- 1. Mike Phillips, 84; 2. Juan Ortiz, 89. Net score- 1. Steve Jones, 71; 2. Joe Earhart, 77.

Lake Park Men’s Golf Association results

The Lake Park Men’s Golf Association individual stroke play tournament was played March 16 at Lake Park Golf Course in Lewisville. Results are, gross score- 1. Alan Magill, 66; 2. Jon Albrecht, 69; 3. Scott Higginbotham, 75. Net score- 1. J.D. Elledge, 67; 2. J.P. Killkenny, 68; 3. Steve Hancock, 70.
