Basketball roundup: Sanger crushes Whitesboro

SANGER — Sanger wrapped up the second seed in District 9-3A with a 62-39 win over Whitesboro on Tuesday.
Sanger’s Reagan Miller led all scorers with 27 points. Shayne Wright also reached double-digits with 10 points.
The victory gives the Lady Indians (22-10, 8-2) some momentum heading into the playoffs, having won their last two regular-season games.

Megan Dando scored 15 points to lead the Lady Falcons (10-21, 4-10), who trailed 50-23 after three quarters.

AUBREY — The Aubrey Lady Chaparrals cruised past S&S Consolidated in their regular-season finale to clinch a tie with Ponder for second place in District 10-2A.
Sidney Karr scored 15 points and Jac Bullock added 10 for the Lady Chaps (25-6, 11-3), who will play a tiebreaker for the No. 2 playoff seed on Friday at Denton High School.

The LadyCats (14-15, 6-8) put the game away during the third quarter, during which they outscored Valley View, 26-5.

Ponder’s Jessica Sprabeary led all scorers with 18 points, while Brooke Sanders added 16. As a team, the Lady Lions (26-9, 11-3) shot 51 percent from the field.

Five of six players scored in double figures for Krum (32-1, 14-0) in the game. The Lady Lions were led by Erin Dickson, who racked up 15 points. Kirsti Degelia added 14, Katy Dodd and Emily Olsen both had 12 points and Rachel Wallace chipped in with 11. Olsen also had a game-high 14 rebounds.

The loss keeps Lake Dallas (5-24) winless in District 5-4A. The Falcons trailed, 35-13, at the half.
