The Denton Kiwanis Club announced the recipients of the annual Sportsmanship Awards at the club’s weekly luncheon Monday.

Students from high schools in Denton were nominated by their campus athletic directors and team coaches for their outstanding contributions to their respective programs. Among the criteria used to select the students were positive attitude, commitment to team goals, leadership and athletic ability.

This year’s recipients were: Denton’s Spencer Stewart, football, baseball and basketball; and Paige Flowers, volleyball; Guyer’s Jake Witt, football and track; and Erin Garvey, volleyball; Ryan’s Zach Voight, baseball; and Alex Ray, basketball and volleyball; Calvary’s Ethan Kilgore, football and basketball; and Sarah Anderson, volleyball; and Selwyn’s Ethan Yackulic, basketball; and Samantha Matthews, volleyball.
