McKINNEY — The Argyle Eagles squeaked by with a win over Spruce on Friday night at the Collin County Roundball Classic.
Argyle (6-0) fought back-and-forth with Spruce (5-2) until a shot from Caden Dickerson, who scored nine points for Argyle, put the Eagles ahead with one second left. Spruce called a timeout but was unable to get a final shot.
Top players for Argyle were Erik Katzen with 17 points, Billy Carroll with 14 points and Cory Dixon with 12 points. Argyle was 20-for-20 from the free throw line for the night.
“It was an extremely close game from the very beginning to the very end,” Argyle head coach John King said.
