Baseball
The Denton Adult Baseball League is starting its 21st season. All players and coaches interested in participating should contact Randy Brittain for more information at 940-390-1421.
The Flower Mound Warriors Select Baseball Club is looking for eligible players to play 14-and-under and compete at a high AAA/Major Level. The team will be led by a paid coach and will have access to indoor hitting and workout facilities at The Edge Extreme. Basketball
The 2008 Texas Woman’s University Basketball Camps will be held June 9-12 in Kitty Magee Arena on the TWU campus. The Little Pioneer Day Camp, for girls in kindergarten through fifth grade, will run from 9 a.m.-noon. The Pioneer Day Camp, for girls in grades 6-12, will run from 1-4 p.m. The cost for each camp is $95. TWU head basketball coach Beth Jillson will be the camp director. The Guyer Lady Wildcats and head coach Charla Valenzuela will host their basketball camp at Wildcat Gymnasiums June 16-19. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon for grades 8-9 and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for grades 4-7. Cost for the camp is $45 or $80 for both the volleyball and basketball camp offered on the same days. The cost includes a camp T-shirt. Campers are encouraged to bring a sack lunch although snacks and drink will be available for purchase. Daily awards will be given to campers. The Ryan Raiders will host a basketball camp for grades 1-9 on June 9-12. Cost of the camp is $65 and will run by Ryan head coach Bryce Overstreet.

The Guyer Wildcats will host a basketball camp on June 23-26. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon for grades 2-6 and from 2-5 p.m. for grades 7-9. Ryan head coach Bryce Overstreet and Guyer head coach Nathan Moses will host a summer basketball league for grades 4-8 for boys and grades 7-8 for girls. The league take place between June 3 and July 2. The league will feature seven games with a tournament and costs $500 per team.

The Ryan Lady Raiders and head coach Monesha Allen will host a basketball game for girls in grades 3 through 9 from 8 a.m. to noon on June 16-19 at Ryan High School. Cost of the camp is $65 per player when pre-enrolled by May 30. It’s $70 per player on the first day of camp. Equestrian
The Gainesville Riding Club will continue its Open Play Day Buckle Series this summer at the Gainesville Riding Club Arena, 3152 N. Grand Ave. in Gainesville. Remaining dates are May 17, June 21, July 19 and Sept. 20.
Awards will be presented at the end of the season in various age groups and riding disciplines. Spectators are welcome. Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware will be the featured instructor at the Offense-Defense football camp June 8-12 at the University of Dallas campus in Irving. Golf
The Guyer Wildcats will have golf tryouts on May 13 and 14 at Lantana Golf Club for students who will be at Guyer next year, including incoming freshmen. Tryouts will be from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and players need to attend just one of the days. Cost is $5 for a bucket of range balls. Please wear appropriate attire to the driving range. Gymnastics
Achievers Gymnastics Center in Denton will hold a weekly series of summer gymnastics-fitness-adventure camp programs from June 9 through Aug. 18. The age-group programs are designed for all abilities. Preschool camp (ages 3-5) runs 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and school-age camp (ages 6 and up) runs 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For registration information, call 940-484-4900.
The Texas Woman’s University gymnastics program will host its 27th annual Gymnastics Instructional Camp from June 15-19. All levels (from beginner to Level 10) are welcome at this camp. The camp, which is open to both residents and commuters, will feature three daily workouts totaling six hours a day. Frank Kudlac, TWU’s gymnastics coach, will serve as the camp director. Soccer
The 2008 Texas Woman’s University Soccer Instructional Day Camp will be held July 21-25 at the TWU Soccer Field on the TWU campus. Girls and boys in grades 1-6 are invited to attend this camp. The cost is $95 and the camp will focus on the development of technical skills — dribbling, passing, shooting, and heading. TWU head soccer coach Fleur Benatar will be the camp director. Challenger Sports will host a weeklong British soccer camp during the weekof July 7 in association with the Denton Soccer Association at North Lakes Soccer Complex.
The camp will run Monday through Friday and include the Camp World Cup daily tournament. It is one of 2,000 camps offered throughout North America by Challenger Sports. Camps include ages 3-4 (cost $62), ages 4-5 (cost $71) and ages 6-16 (cost $93). Each camper receives a free camp shirt, ball and player evaluation. Softball
The Texas Woman’s University softball program will offer two camps this summer at Pioneer Field on the TWU campus. A pitcher/catcher day camp for pitchers and catchers in grades 7-12 will be held June 9-10 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. A general skills day camp for players in grades 7-12 will be held June 11-12 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost for each camp is $150. TWU softball coaches Kristin Minton and Alex Lozoya will be the primary coaches at these camps. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt. Volleyball
The Ryan Lady Raiders and head coach Cindy Williams will host a volleyball camp June 9-12. For grades 6-9, the camp runs from 8 a.m. to noon. For grades 3-5, it runs from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Williams, Beki Garcia, Addie Mack and Lacey Hailey will conduct the camp at Ryan High School and it will focus on the skills and techniques of the game. Cost of the camp is $65 for grades six through nine and $35 for grades three through five, and the cost includes a camp T-shirt. Add $10 to the price if registering after May 21.

The Denton Lady Broncos and head coach Heather Stewart will hold a camp from June 9-12 for grades 6-9. Play will start at 9 a.m. and end at noon each day. The camp costs $55. For more information, call Stewart at 940-369-2195.
