08:39 AM CST on Tuesday, December 4, 2007

TURIN, Italy — Denton native Jordan Malone finished third in both the 1,500 meters and in the 1,000 meters for his best showing of the season at the fourth World Cup short track speed skating event, which concluded Sunday.

Malone helped the United States team to a third-place showing over the weekend. He improved upon his finishes in both events from the previous weekend in Heerenveen, Netherlands, when he placed fourth in the 1,500 and fifth in the 1,000.

In the world rankings, Malone currently is ninth overall. He is sixth in the 1,000 and fourth in the 1,500, and will compete next at the U.S. Championships later this month in Salt Lake City.
