Football: Pilot Point RB Johnson gets all-state honor from TSWA

Pilot Point senior Jarman Johnson has been named the Class 2A Offensive Player of the Year by the Texas Sportswriters Association.

Johnson, who led the Bearcats to a Class 2A Division I state title in December, was also named a running back on the TSWA all-state 2A first team. He rushed for 2,978 yards and 41 touchdowns this season, and fell just short of 5,000 yards for his career.

Pilot Point also was represented on the first team by offensive lineman Cam Feldt, defensive lineman Carter Street and defensive back Justin Chambers. Offensive lineman Boone Feldt and quarterback Seth Tilley made the third team, along with Aubrey offensive lineman Trey Gomez.

In Class 3A, Argyle had three players selected to the first team, including defensive lineman David Johnson, linebacker Jake Sizelove and kicker Chad Hedlund. Offensive lineman Mark Vickers made the second team, while center Sam Forrer and defensive back Jake Meeks garnered third-team honors.
