08:13 AM CDT on Tuesday, June 8, 2010
CLARKSVILLE, Ark. — Former Ponder guard David Robertson will continue his basketball career at University of the Ozarks, where he will play for ex-Ponder coach Doug Boxell, the school announced.
Robertson, a 6-1 guard, averaged 19 points, six rebounds and 3.5 steals per game while shooting 38 percent from three-point range this season in leading the Lions to their third straight Class 2A state title. He was an all-state selection and was chosen as the MVP of District 10-2A, and is a three-time all-district selection.
Boxell led Ponder to state titles in 2008 and 2009 before leaving for Ozarks, a Division III school that finished 8-16 in his first year but has four starters returning.
