CNN has made it official, announcing Wednesday that reality TV host and former tabloid editor Piers Morgan (above, right) will succeed Larry King in its 8 p.m. Central time slot, according to The New York Times. The British-born Morgan, a judge on NBC's America's Got Talent, will debut the as-yet-unnamed interview show in January, a month after King signs off from Larry King Live, which has broadcast for 25 years.

Heidi Montag is suffering more buyer's remorse on her several cosmetic alterations last year. She said by Twitter on Tuesday, "Warning: to anyone who is thinking about getting their ears pinned, I learned after the fact it is the most painful surgery a person can get." ... Halle Berry is keeping company with her Dark Tide co-star Olivier Martinez, People magazine reports. ... Olay Skin Care has named Grammy winner Carrie Underwood its first North American celebrity ambassador.
