Author Philippa Gregory discusses new novel 'The Other Queen' on Tuesday
Sigrid Estrada Author Philippa Gregory British author Philippa Gregory writes about women in history from the perspective of, as she calls herself, "a radical historian." By that, she means that although her mostly royal subjects – Elizabeth I; Mary, Queen of Scots; Anne Boleyn – have had barrels of ink expended on dissecting their lives, she looks at them freshly. 'Flash of Genius' trailer doesn't paint the whole picture
AP Greg Kinnear stars in Flash of Genius The trailers for Flash of Genius, opening this weekend, are in heavy rotation. If you've been to the movies lately or tuned in to any of the rollout of the new fall TV lineups, you've seen one version or another. In quick, dramatic cuts, you see scenes from the story of a man whose invention is stolen by a corporate giant and the battle to win the credit he's due. As the David-and-Goliath images play, the grim-voiced narrator intones portentous phrases like "one man's battle" and "the American dream."

We know many of you will disagree -- by all means, express yourselves.

Third Day rocks rite at Superpages.com Center
Jason Janik / Special to DMN Mac Powell of Christian Southern rock band Third Day, which headlined the Music Builds Tour on Thursday night Christian rockers Third Day merged inspirational messages with R&R swagger at their Dallas show, where they focused on their new CD, Revelation. The music has such energy and resonance because the band, led by personable and potent singer Mac Powell, is so passionate. Third Day has maintained a huge following for more than a decade because it hasn't compromised its belief, has continued to up its artistic game and has never sold-out for the sake of fleeting secular success. Revelation is its hardest-rocking album to date. But it retains the group's signature spirit – in spades. That's admirable, no matter what your religious belief.
