Krylon's spray-on formula simplifies wood staining

Don't worry about trying to track down a paintbrush before tackling your next staining project. Krylon has eliminated the time-consuming aspect of applying exterior wood stain stroke by stroke by putting stain in a spray can.

Like traditional stains, Krylon's spray version protects wood from weathering and contains UV inhibitors that help repel water and prevent fading.

The spray stain makes quick work of enhancing outdoor pieces such as wood patio furniture, play sets, shutters and mailboxes.

And just like spray paint, it's best to apply the spray stain in light coats to prevent runs and drips.

Krylon Exterior Semi-Transparent Wood Stain is available in four semi-transparent colors: cedar, honey gold, rustic brown and redwood. It sells for $4.99 to $5.99 per can.

Paint and prime in one step with Behr

What's worse than painting a room yourself? Priming it.

Eliminate the double-duty with Behr Premium Plus Ultra Interior.

The new low-VOC paint includes primer, reducing the need for multiple products and coats – not to mention costs. Sold at Home Depot stores nationwide, Behr also introduces in-store centers offering take-away materials such as palette chips and trend color cards as well as a light-box to read colors accurately.

The paint is available in several finishes – flat, flat enamel, eggshell, satin and semigloss – and ranges in price from $3.99 for an eight-ounce sample to $33.98 for a gallon. Currently, the product is available in most Home Depot stores; all locations will have it by mid-July.
