Tour to focus on landscaping for modern architecture
12:00 AM CDT on Friday, July 4, 2008
Modern architecture from the inside out is the theme of Preservation Dallas' third summer institute. Classes focus on green restoration, navigating code enforcement, the challenge of preserving modern buildings and Fair Park, an art deco treasure trove. A highlight of the series is the July 26 tour by Dallas landscape architect David Rolston, who will lead visits to three gardens designed to enhance their modern residences.
"While our speakers are all experts in their respective fields, the classes are geared to benefit both novices and professionals alike," says Katherine Seale, director of Preservation Dallas.
Individual sessions are $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Package rates for multiple sessions are available, including a $75 rate for all lectures, available to members only.
All classes are held at the Meadows Foundation's Wilson Carriage House, located behind 2922 Swiss Ave., unless otherwise noted at registration. For more information, call 214-821-3290 or sign up at www.preservationdallas.org.
