When flying, it's the fees that are the problem, not the fares
There has been a lot of talk recently about increasing fares, but I'm not concerned. While we've had 20 fare increases since 2008, I recently saw fares from Dallas to New York, Buffalo, Rochester and Boston for $98 round trip and fares from Dallas to Honolulu, Maui, Kona and Kauai for $429 round trip. Fare increases come, but they rarely stick in markets with competing low-cost carriers, and if you stick to buying fares during a sale, they won't affect you either way.
