The next time you see the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi Bay, the museum ship will be equipped with firepower similar to what it used during World War II.
In March, two large gun mounts weighing 60 tons each were salvaged from the USS Des Moines, a heavy cruiser being scrapped in Brownsville. They were then shipped to Corpus Christi and installed on the USS Lexington, an aircraft carrier.
