TXU Energy, the retail electricity unit of Energy Future Holdings, said Thursday it will implement its usual summer moratorium on disconnecting low-income, disabled or elderly customers who cannot pay their bills.

The company will offer to set up deferred payment plans for customers in this category. Elderly customers must be at least 62 years old to qualify.

The measures will be in effect from July 1 to September 30.

The company will also waive deposits for elderly customers.

Customers must contact TXU Energy to set up deferred payment plans.
