Heritage group won't back mansion add-on

AUSTIN – The Heritage Society of Austin, which made the first $10,000 private donation to rebuild the fire-gutted Texas Governor's Mansion, is opposed to changing its look. Society president Mandy Dealey says the group won't support plans for a two-story addition to the 153-year-old building because it believes that altering the exterior would threaten the architectural and historical integrity of the mansion.

PHOENIX – A 3-year-old Arizona boy dragged his 1-year-old sister Friday from a house fire that killed their mother and injured two other adults, authorities said.

The girl was hospitalized with severe burns. Authorities said the children's aunt was also severely burned. A fourth victim, a man in his 40s or 50s, suffered minor injuries. No foul play is suspected, but the fire is still under investigation.

Death of Drew Brees' mom ruled a suicide

GRANBY, Colo. – The death of the mother of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been ruled a suicide.
