I agree with the majority: It's been a great Dallas Stars season
The midseason change in general managers altered everything for the Stars, writes Mike Heika in this week's Inside the Dallas Stars newsletter. Instead of chasing players in their 30s and on the back ends of their careers, the Stars put together a group of 20-somethings who are just reaching their prime. And that means the Stars should be getting better.

Dallas Stars have a chance, which is saying something
The Dallas Stars didn't have a chance of beating the Detroit Red Wings in March, but that's changed now, writes Mike Heika in this week's Inside the Dallas Stars newsletter. Why? The Stars' four-overtime victory gae a huge dose of confidence to Marty Turco and the rest of the team, and there's been just enough rest to not lose momentum.

Hungry Dallas Stars tasting some success
Many of you have asked how this team has come together so quickly, and I think it's a combination of things, writes Mike Heika in this week's Inside the Dallas Stars newsletter. The Stars' leaders have really hit their prime. In addition, there are a lot of hungry players who want to be winners.

Dallas Stars in 6 ... and e-mail if I'm wrong

Hard to put a finger on these Dallas Stars
It's never easy to make a prediction, and that's especially true when it comes to the Dallas Stars in the playoffs, writes Mike Heika in this week's Inside the Dallas Stars newsletter.

Games such as the 4-2 home loss to Phoenix on Friday won't inspire confidence in Dallas Stars fans.

Not to join the nabobs of negativism, but there is very little on paper that makes you think that the Dallas Stars can win this first-round series with the Anaheim Ducks, writes Mike Heika in this week's Inside the Stars newsletter.

Loss of Zubov difficult for Dallas Stars to overcome
The Dallas Stars are a different team without Sergei Zubov – that's all there is to it, writes Mike Heika in this week's Inside the Stars newsletter. So if he cannot play in the playoffs because of a foot injury or groin injury or some other injury, the Stars will not be as good.

Dallas Stars coach Dave Tippett (center) has used Brad Richards in different ways since his arrival.

The two defining topics of the week were the chemistry of the team with Brad Richards and an ever-growing impatience with the Dallas Stars coaching staff, writes Mike Heika in this week's Inside the Stars newsletter. Before this season is over, the two probably will be intertwined.

Dallas Stars don't want rest at the expense of rhythm
Just a caveat that the rest the Stars are getting, while deserved and important, might not be all sunshine and roses.

New GMs put stamp on Dallas Stars from start
