RHP Steve Trachsel (1-0, 3.18 ERA): A 15-game winner for the Mets in 2006, Trachsel is trying to rebound from a 2007 season in which he went 7-11 with a 4.90 ERA for the Cubs and Orioles. He gave up two runs and four hits to Seattle last week, earning the win after 5 2/3 innings. He hasn't pitched against Texas since 2003. In four career starts against the Rangers, he is 1-1 with a 7.06 ERA.

Update: Tuesday was a big day for Fort Worth Brewer graduate Aubrey Huff, who tied a career high with four hits in Baltimore's 8-1 win. He also had four RBIs. The Orioles' 12 hits Tuesday marks the third time in seven games they have hit in double figures.

LHP Kason Gabbard (1-0, 0.00 ERA): The lefty, who turned 26 on Tuesday, started the season with seven scoreless innings and a win against the Angels on Friday. He allowed seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Gabbard went six innings only once in three starts at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington last season. He was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA.

Hates to face: Brian Roberts (4-for-5)

Update: Ian Kinsler's error Tuesday means the Rangers have seven errors in seven games. Six errors are by the infielders, including three from Kinsler. Texas had more errors than any other AL team last season (124).
