RHP Jason Jennings (2-9, 6.45 ERA): Coming off elbow surgery last year, there was concern during spring training that Jennings' top velocity had not returned. But he is not a power pitcher and got his fastball back to 87 mph by the end of camp. Jennings is seeking his first win since July 24 of last season while with Houston. Over his final six outings, he had a 12.13 ERA in 23 innings.

Hates to face I: Brad Wilkerson (4-for-9)

Hates to face II: Richie Sexson (5-for-14, 2 HRs)

Update: The Rangers were just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position in the season opener, highlighting their struggles to capitalize in those situations against the AL West. They hit .269 with runners in scoring position against the West last year, .293 against everyone else.

RHP Carlos Silva (13-14, 4.19 ERA): There was a time when the Rangers owned Silva, but he's made adjustments the last two years. Since getting knocked out in the second inning July 7, 2006, Silva has made quality starts in three of four outings against Texas. In those three starts, he allowed four runs in 20 innings. Last year, he set a career high with 89 strikeouts in 202 innings.

Loves to face: Ian Kinsler (1-for-12)

Hates to face: Hank Blalock (9-for-18)

Update: The addition of Silva via free agency and Erik Bedard via a trade, along with Felix Hernandez, Jarrod Washburn and Miguel Batista gives Seattle a rotation that combined to go 66-52 in 2007 with a 3.99 ERA. Cleveland led the AL last year with a 4.19 ERA.
