Highlights

SEATTLE SECOND

Jose Vidro's single that skipped past Ben Broussard started the inning. Vidro was out stealing, but Ian Kinsler didn't hold on to the ball. When it kicked into the outfield, Vidro went to third. He scored on a 2-and-2 single by Kenji Johjima.

Seattle 1, Rangers 0

RANGERS THIRD

David Murphy's leadoff single was the first hit off Felix Hernandez. Murphy went to third when Hernandez threw wildly to first on Gerald Laird's sacrifice bunt. Murphy scored on Broussard's groundout.

Rangers 1, Seattle 1

RANGERS EIGHTH

Josh Hamilton beat out an infield single to start the inning and went to third when Hank Blalock doubled a 1-and-2 pitch into the right-field corner. Milton Bradley had a first-pitch sacrifice fly, and Murphy hit a two-out, run-scoring double.

Rangers 3, Seattle 1

SEATTLE EIGHTH

Two errors and a wild pitch led to three Seattle runs. Yuniesky Betancourt scored the go-ahead run when Joaquin Benoit's first pitch with two outs to Adrian Beltre skipped past Laird.

Seattle 4, Rangers 3

RANGERS NINTH

Kinsler fought his way to a leadoff single. Hamilton delivered a one-out home run on the first pitch he saw from J.J. Putz.

Rangers 5, Seattle 4

Fair or foul

Quality (Fair): The Rangers got a quality start for the second straight night. Vicente Padilla followed Kevin Millwood by going six innings and allowing just a run.

Left-handed compliment (Fair): The Rangers' two-run rally in the eighth was keyed by left-handed hitters Josh Hamilton, Hank Blalock and David Murphy against lefty Eric O'Flaherty.

Illnesses (Foul): Michael Young had the flu Tuesday, but seems to have started the season with a case of Error-itis. He's made two key errors in two games.
