Vazquez tied his career high with his fourth hit of the night. It drove in Gerald Laird. Vazquez was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.

Road trips (fair): The Rangers finished the road trip with a 5-2 record, 21 consecutive scoreless innings, and they're out of the cellar in the AL West.
Foreign objects (foul): You want to charge the mound, fine? But throwing your helmet at the pitcher after he's dropped his glove is just bad taste, Richie Sexson.
Zeroes (fair): The bullpen held Seattle scoreless for 5 1/3 innings Thursday, extending its scoreless streak to 24 innings over the last eight games.
