Milton Bradley reached base for the fifth consecutive plate appearance with a two-out double that scored Josh Hamilton.

OAKLAND SEVENTH

German allowed the first three hitters to reach, but the go-ahead run scored on a botched run-down play between first and second. Young held the ball too long chasing Mark Ellis back to first. Bobby Crosby was able to break from third and score.

Oakland 8, Rangers 6

OAKLAND EIGHTH

Cust walked for the third time in the game and then was lifted for pinch runner Rajai Davis, who scored on Brown's two-out single.

Oakland 9, Rangers 6

OAKLAND NINTH

Eddie Guardado, pitching on consecutive days for only the second time this season, allowed a leadoff double and two walks. The run actually scored on a double steal of second and third on which Saltalamacchia's throw eluded third baseman German Duran. Guardado also allowed a two-run homer to Daric Barton.

Oakland 12, Rangers 6

Fair or foul

Afternoon strolls (foul): The Rangers allowed eight walks Sunday. It's the eighth time they've allowed more than five walks this season. They are 2-6 in those games.

Heating up (fair): Ian Kinsler was 3-for-5 and is batting .361 over his last 15 games. He's pushed his season average to .306.

Thinking pink (fair): Pink bats, sweatbands and ribbon decals, all to raise awareness about breast cancer, have become a nice Mother's Day tradition.
