Fair or foul

Speed (fair): Gerald Laird had a bunt single and went first-to-third on a routine single. Remember, he wears 15 because he is "one man, five tools."

Closing time (foul): C.J. Wilson couldn't hold a four-run ninth-inning lead. It was his second consecutive time entering a non-save situation and allowing multiple runs.

Participation (foul): Because of injuries and ineffectiveness, the Rangers have used the most players in the majors this season. Doug Mathis became the 36th Ranger to appear in a game.
