Jarrod Saltalamacchia led off with a 440-foot homer. Hamilton added a 451-foot blast off the home run porch facade in right center.

Two infield singles, an error by Sidney Ponson and a pair of doubles led to five Houston runs. It might have been worse, but Carlos Lee was thrown out at home to end the inning.

Ian Kinsler took a two-out walk, stole second and scored on Michael Young's single. Josh Hamilton followed with a triple.

Houston native David Murphy hit a leadoff homer. The six-run inning included a missed pop-up by Astros catcher J.R. Towles, a triple by Ian Kinsler and another homer by Young.

Joshing (fair): Josh Hamilton set career highs with five hits and five RBIs and came within a base of tying Jose Canseco's club record of 14 total bases in a game.
Homers (fair): The Rangers hit six of them Friday, the 13th time in club history they've hit at least six in a game. Two of those have come against Houston.
Indecision (foul): Houston's Shawn Chacon got a no-decision, giving him an 0-0 record in nine starts this year. It's the longest streak without a decision to start a season in history.
