Taylor Teagarden broke up Scott Baker's attempt at a perfect game with a two-out home run to center on a full-count pitch. It was the first hit of Teagarden's career.

Twin killings (Fair): Vicente Padilla held the Twins scoreless for the second time in three starts this season. Padilla allowed Minnesota three runs in 21 innings.
Slumps (Foul): Ian Kinsler's 0-for-11 start to the second half has reduced his lead in the AL batting race to four points (.328 to .324) over Joe Mauer.
Wild things (On the line): C.J. Wilson allowed a rare two-base wild pitch in the ninth inning but kept Joe Mauer, the potential tying run, at third base.
