They have scored 103 or more points in 12 consecutive games, going 8-4 in that stretch and having won their last three. They are averaging 120.3 points in that stretch, including a whopping 168-point night against Seattle. This is not good news for the Mavericks, who have had trouble putting the ball in the basket lately. ... Carmelo Anthony has made at least half of his shots in five of the last six games and is averaging 25 points while shooting 53 percent in that stretch. ... Josh Howard made all 15 of his free throw attempts against the Clippers on Tuesday. ... Erick Dampier made eight of 12 shots and had 19 points against the Clippers, who did not have a center. Denver block machine Marcus Camby will throw up significantly more resistance.
Jason Terry and Brandon Bass each were 1-of-5 shooting from the field against the Clippers, although Bass contributed eight rebounds. The only reserve who made more than one shot was Antoine Wright, who was 3-of-5 from the field. ... Denver forward Linas Kleiza is only 4-of-13 from the field in the last two games. Before that, he had a 9-of-11 shooting night.
Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki (left ankle and knee) is out.
Nuggets: Nene (testicular tumor) is out.
