When people think of the best power forwards in the Western Conference, he may not be among the first few names that roll off the tongue. But West has put together a fabulous series, averaging 22 points and 7.5 rebounds. In Game 4 on Sunday, he dominated at times with 24 points and nine boards. ... Peja Stojakovic continues to rank among the playoff leaders by hitting 15-of-24 3-pointers so far in the series.

They are looking for anybody with a hot hand. Only one of their starters made more than 50 percent of his shots in Game 4, and that was Erick Dampier, who made two of three shots. Off the bench, rotation players were a combined 8-for-24 from the field. ... The Mavericks continue to lose the turnover game, giving the ball away 50 times in four games to just 34 times for the Hornets. ... Josh Howard is simply a no-show in the series, shooting 15-for-58 (26 percent). ... The Mavericks are just under 40 percent for the series.
