Dallas Mavericks vs. Denver Nuggets preview
7 p.m.; TNT; KESN-FM 103.3; KFLC-AM 1270 (Spanish)11:57 PM CST on Wednesday, December 5, 2007
He's becoming as dynamic as any scorer not named Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. He's pouring in more than 25 points per game and throws out better than four assists per game. If there is one hole in his game, it's how a guy his size that plays more than 35 minutes a game can only average 4.9 rebounds. ... Wait, here's the answer. Marcus Camby is second in the league to Dwight Howard with 14.7 rebounds per game and second to Josh Smith with 3.28 blocks per game. ... Erick Dampier, who will be matched up with Camby much of the time, had a 10-rebound game at Chicago and is averaging 18.4 rebounds per 48 minutes, which places him in the top five in the league in that category.
The Nuggets guard is shooting 42.9 percent from 3-point range but only 42.1 percent from inside the arc. Last season, he hit only 30.8 percent of his shots in two games against the Mavericks. But he was positively scorching compared to Yakhouba Diawara, who was 2-of-20 against the Mavericks last season. ... Despite Camby's glass-cleaning abilities, the Nuggets get outrebounded by more than three per game.
Mavericks: Eddie Jones (right leg) is out; Devean George is day-to-day.
Nuggets: Nene (left thumb), Chucky Atkins (right groin strain) and Steven Hunter (right knee) are out.
