Missouri's Daniel a media favorite to succeed again

IRVING – Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel, who finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting last season, was selected as the preseason Big 12 offensive player of the year by media Thursday.
Daniel, a senior from Southlake Carroll, threw for a school-record 4,306 yards and 33 touchdowns as he led the Tigers to the Cotton Bowl. He was named the Big 12 offensive player of the year last season.
Also selected to the first team were Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree (Carter High School), Tech OL Louis Vasquez (Corsicana), Texas OL Cedric Dockery (Garland Lakeview) and Kansas kick returner Marcus Herford (Cedar Hill).
