Oklahoma State's Hunter among Doak Walker semifinalists

Oklahoma State sophomore Kendall Hunter is among the 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, presented annually to the nation's top running back.
The SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors made the announcement Tuesday.
Hunter, a former Tyler John Tyler standout, has 199 carries for 1,332 yards and 13 touchdowns, which is tops in the Big 12.
Another semifinalist, Oregon State freshman Jacquizz Rodgers, is a Houston Lamar graduate who owns the Texas high school record for touchdowns (136) and was the 2007 Associated Press state player of the year. He leads the Pac-10 with 229 carries for 1,089 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The 162 members of the award selection committee will cast votes selecting three finalists, which will be unveiled on Nov. 24. The winner will be announced live on the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards show on Dec. 11.
The award is named after three-time SMU All-American running back and 1948 Heisman Trophy winner Doak Walker.
