DENTON – The UNT men's basketball team will lose one scholarship when the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate report is released today, a source close to the situation said Monday.

UNT will receive a score of 924, one point below the benchmark of 925 to avoid scholarship penalties. The report rates a school's and each program's ability to keep athletes eligible and in school.

UNT has already signed three players in its 2008 recruiting class, but will not be able to fill what would have been a fourth scholarship.
