Former Baylor pitcher Lisa Ferguson has been hired as an assistant coach at North Texas, the school announced Wednesday.
Ferguson, who led Baylor to the Women’s College World Series in 2007, will work with pitchers and catchers at UNT and also will assist with recruiting.
As a senior at Baylor, Ferguson was named to the All-Big 12 first team. She posted 26 wins, nine shutouts, 189 strikeouts and a 1.96 earned-run average. She also played with the Washington Glory of the National Pro Fastpitch League for two seasons.
Last season, she was the head coach at Fort Worth Christian, leading the private school to a TAPPS state runner-up finish. She compiled a 40-15-3 record in two years.
