Replay booth unkind to Oklahoma

Sooners twice score in spite of decisions that go Mizzou's way

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma had two booth reviews go against it in the first half, but the Sooners overcame the setbacks by scoring touchdowns on both drives.

During the second drive, quarterback Sam Bradford hit running back Chris Brown over the middle. Missouri linebacker Sean Weatherspoon grabbed Brown, but Brown rolled over on top of Weatherspoon and kept running. The initial call was a 24-yard touchdown catch, but it was reversed after a review.

Officials ruled that Brown's knee scraped the ground at the start of his roll-over, and he was called down at the Missouri 19. Four plays later, Bradford found Juaquin Iglesias open in the back of the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown.

OU wide receiver Malcolm Kelly was credited with an 18-yard catch on the Sooners' first drive of the second quarter, but the play was reversed to an incompletion. Kelly caught the ball along the right sideline but didn't get a foot down before going out of bounds. OU scored five plays later when Bradford hit tight end Jermaine Gresham over the middle for a 30-yard touchdown.

OU had another booth review go against it in the third quarter. Iglesias committed his second fumble of the game with 4:31 left in the third on a kickoff return. The ball was recovered by Missouri and the play was ruled a fumble on the field. The review confirmed the officials' initial call.

"On the kickoff, I felt like I still had the ball, but when I got up, I didn't have it," Iglesias said.

"We can't see the replays. You just have to be prepared for whatever. Some calls you get, some calls you don't."

RB Murray limited: Redshirt freshman running back DeMarco Murray said he had his carries limited against Missouri because of a left foot injury.

Murray had a team-high 17 carries for 128 yards and an electrifying 65-yard touchdown run in a win over Texas last week. But against Missouri, he had only four carries for 2 yards.

"All last week, my foot was bothering me. It's a bruised bone or something like that," Murray said. "I really didn't practice as much as I usually do. It was hurting every time I got tackled."

Stoops plays wind: Facing a fourth-and-5 with four seconds left in the first quarter, OU coach Bob Stoops wisely used a timeout to take advantage of a 20-mph south wind at the Sooners' backs.

OU kicker Garrett Hartley came on and made a 28-yard field goal to put the Sooners ahead, 10-7.

Hartley then kicked off with the wind behind him, but Missouri redshirt freshman Jeremy Maclin returned the ball 56 yards to the OU 44.

Fans get creative: ESPN's College GameDay broadcasted live from OU's campus Saturday morning for the first time since 2003. Fans packed in behind the set on the infield of John Jacobs Track, which is east of Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, and brought plenty of homemade signs with them.

Some of the signs were pretty clever. One on OU linebacker Curtis Lofton read, "He's a Man. He's #40," mocking Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy's post-game tirade after the Texas Tech win, when he said "I'm a man. I'm 40." Another poked fun at Missouri standout quarterback Chase Daniel of Southlake Carroll. It read, "Chase Daniel eats boogers."
