Notre Dame, Arizona State set for 2013 game at Dallas Cowboys stadium

Notre Dame and Arizona State have finalized a contract to play a nonconference game at the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington on Oct. 5, 2013.
Notre Dame was initially going to play Baylor at the stadium in 2012. However, the deal fell through because the Big 12 could not work out a television arrangement.
By playing the Sun Devils from the Pacific-10 Conference, the Fighting Irish can be the home team and have the game carried by its own television partner, NBC.
"Bringing the storied tradition of Notre Dame football to the new stadium in Arlington to take on a national power like Arizona State makes this an exciting day for all of North Texas," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement.
The new stadium will host the AT&T Cotton Bowl starting in January 2010. Texas A&M and Arkansas have also signed a long-term contract to play a nonconference series there beginning in 2009.
