LINCOLN, Neb. – Dane Carter hit a three-run double in the top of the 16th inning, giving Texas A&M a 6-3 victory over Nebraska on Friday night.

The Aggies loaded the bases on three infield singles before Carter, who struck out five times in his first seven at-bats, sent a drive into right field against Dan Jennings (5-1). Carter caught a break during his decisive at-bat when Nebraska catcher Mitch Abeita dropped a pop foul that would have ended the inning.

League-leading Texas A&M (42-8, 19-3) extended its Big 12-record conference win streak to 16 games and increased its lead over second-place Nebraska to 3.5 games. It was A&M's 10th straight road win.

The Huskers (36-9-1) had tied it 3-3 in the ninth on Craig Corriston's RBI groundout.

Brian Ruggiano drove in two runs for the Aggies. His one-out single to right broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning.

Travis Starling (8-0), the Aggies' regular closer, allowed just four hits in eight shutout innings of relief. He threw 108 pitches.
