Wednesday's game highlights
Stars 3. Chicago 101:27 AM CST on Thursday, January 10, 2008
1. Mike Modano, Stars: Three assists and some key plays in tracking the puck on the penalty kill.
2. Marty Turco, Stars: Had only 17 saves, but he came up with some doozies. He made the big saves and Niklolai Khabibulin didn't.
3. Sergei Zubov, Stars: Logged 27:37 in ice time, finished plus-2 and had a key assist – all with a sore hand.
1st: Dallas allowed the first goal for the 23rd time this season, and still somehow pushed its record to 10-12-1 when allowing the first goal. With Chicago on the power play, Robert Lang deflected a Duncan Keith shot past Marty Turco at the 6:09 mark. It was only the second power play goal allowed in the Stars' last 11 games (36-of-38). Dallas came back and scored its own power-play goal when Loui Eriksson walked toward the left post and squeezed a shot past Chicago's Nikolai Khabibulin.

2nd: Patrick Kane tipped a puck around Sergei Zubov and then drew a penalty shot on a Zubov hook midway through the second period. Kane used a couple of forehand-to-backhand moves to get Turco down, but then shot wide on the backhand.
Stars 1, Chicago 1
3rd: Turco and Khabibulin exchanged fabulous saves, and it appeared Chicago grabbed momentum when Brenden Morrow took a hooking penalty at the 12:01 mark. However, Stars penalty killers dominated the next two minutes, and Stu Barnes scored the game-winner on a short-handed slap shot from the right point. Morrow added an empty-netter.
