CALGARY, Alberta – The Dallas Stars' Stephane Robidas has three power-play goals in the last six games. So, is that the hottest stretch of his career?

"In the NHL? Yeah," Robidas said. "Oh, yeah."

When you have 22 goals in 463 career games, it's pretty easy to see just how hot a streak this is. If it keeps up, Robidas, who has four goals on the season, might even break his career high of six goals, set in 2000-01 with Montreal.

Stars coach Dave Tippett said Robidas is taking advantage of absences by power-play specialists Philippe Boucher (shoulder surgery) and Sergei Zubov (groin and foot injuries).

"He's hot, what can you say," Tippett said. "You have to look at it as an opportunity. No Bouch, no Zubie, right shot. There's some opportunity there, and he's taking advantage of it. You have to like that."

Robidas, who was an established power-play ace in junior hockey and at the AHL level, said he doesn't feel out of place on the power play. In fact, he said he's just shaking off a little rust and getting motivated to do more.

"I'm just trying to make the best out of it and stay focused and make good plays," he said. "I made a bad pass on the first 5-on-3 [against Edmonton], and I really wanted to make up for it. You just have to relax and focus at the same time. We have so many good passers on this team, and they can find you at any time. You have to bear down and be ready for it, but you also can't be too tense and try to force it."

Teammate and good friend Mike Ribeiro said he sensed that Robidas wanted another shot, so he fed him later in the game against the Oilers on a 5-on-4 power play that turned out to be the game-winning goal.

"I could tell he was looking for it, and he was open," Ribeiro said. "Everybody on the team is so excited for him. How could you not be?"

Fresh legs? Tippett subbed in Brad Winchester for Krys Barch Saturday against Calgary to provide fresh legs for the second of back-to-back games but left Joel Lundqvist and Mike Smith out. Tippett said he has seen a bit of a drop from some of his veteran players in previous back-to-back situations but that his veterans are providing a lot of the big plays lately.

"An older player, he might not be as fresh, but you can't take him out, he's too important," Tippett said. "So you read and react and adjust as best you can and get through it and take your two days off."

Briefly: The Stars are 9-3-1 against the Northwest Division this season. ... With Robidas' game-winning goal Friday, the Stars have nine players with game-winning goals. ... The radio coverage of Tuesday's game has been moved from WBAP-AM (820) to ESPN-FM (103.3) because of a scheduling conflict.
