Wednesday's game highlights
Phoenix 2, Stars 112:00 AM CST on Thursday, March 6, 2008
1. Ilya Bryzgalov, Phoenix: Nothing spectacular, but he was solid and stopped the Stars' first shot from the perimeter.
2. Shane Doan, Phoenix: A goal and a plus-2. He's now plus-12 in five games against the Stars this season.
3. Brad Winchester, Stars: Scored his first goal as a Star and brought energy to the game.
1st: The Stars allowed the game's first goal for the 37th time this season and are now 18-18-1 in those games. Phoenix jumped in front when rookie Peter Mueller scored off a nice pass from Joel Perreault. Mueller beat Mike Modano to the front of the net, and Perreault whipped his pass from below the goal line. Philippe Boucher left with a sore shoulder and did not return.

2nd: The Coyotes stretched their lead to 2-0 just 59 seconds into the period as Shane Doan flashed in front of the net and took a pass from Radim Vrbata for an easy shot over a laid out Marty Turco. Brad Winchester cut the lead in half with his first goal in a Stars uniform. Toby Petersen carried the puck down the left wing and put a wrister on net. Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgalov came up with the save, but Winchester raced to the net to tip in the rebound.
Phoenix 2, Stars 1
3rd: Dallas couldn't get the equalizer, despite several nice flurries. The game deteriorated into a few skirmishes at the end, and some misconduct penalties were handed out before the teams were allowed to leave the ice.
