1. Brendan Morrison, Vancouver: A goal and two assists. Scored the game-winner by driving the net.

2. Matt Pettinger, Vancouver: A goal and two assists. His speed helped create a lot of scoring chances.

3. Roberto Luongo, Vancouver: Came up huge in the third period to help get the win.

First period: Johan Holmqvist started his first game in net for the Stars and allowed a goal on the second shot he faced. Vancouver's Matt Pettinger flipped in a wrister that slipped between Holmqvist's pads for a 1-0 lead at the 2:32 mark. Ryan Kesler then scored on a power play rebound and Markus Naslund scored on a two-on-none breakaway after a Mark Fistric turnover. Dallas' Joel Lundqvist crashed the net for a rebound goal with 13.3 seconds left.

Vancouver 3, Stars 1

Second period: Marty Turco replaced Holmqvist to start the period. Mike Ribeiro drew an elbow from Kevin Bieksa and Dallas scored on the power play. Mike Modano scored on a wrister at the 7:35 mark. Dallas then tied the game at 13:58 as Jere Lehtinen made a one-handed pass to spring Brad Richards for a short-handed breakaway. Richards tucked the puck between Roberto Luongo's pads for his 20th goal of the season.

Stars 3, Vancouver 3

Third period: Dallas controlled the majority of play, but could not capitalize on a power play to start the period or on one in the middle of the frame. The Canucks, meanwhile, found a way to score on one of three shots. Brendan Morrison drove to the net and Naslund's backhand pass into the crease bounced off a tangle of bodies that included Morrison, Stephane Robidas and Turco. Morrison got credit for his ninth goal of the year.
