The Sharks were the top penalty killing team in the NHL this season and killed 32 of 36 power-play attempts (88.9 percent) in eight games against Dallas.
Dallas: D Sergei Zubov (foot/groin/sports hernia) is day to day; D Philippe Boucher (hip strain) is out.
San Jose: D Kyle McLaren (groin) is questionable; D Brad Norton (back) is doubtful.
Zubov continues to skate hard and is listed as day to day for Game 1. Coach Dave Tippett said the Stars would see how Zubov reacts to today's morning skate in San Jose. ... The Stars outscored the Sharks, 11-4, in second periods this season. ... Sharks rookie Devin Setoguchi had four goals in seven games against the Stars this season.
