Wednesday's game highlights
Colorado 4, Stars 302:20 AM CDT on Thursday, October 4, 2007
1. Paul Stastny, Colorado: First hat trick of his career, his line was magic.
2. Andrew Brunette, Colorado: Three assists on Stastny goals.
3. NIKLAS HAGMAN, Stars: His drive helped the Stars get back into the game.
1st period: Stastny scored on a shot from distance coming down the left wing – a dubious start to Marty Turco's season. Brenden Morrow left for a while with a face injury, but then returned to play in the second period.

2nd period: Game starts to get away from Stars as Sergei Zubov is a minus-4 and Stars trail, 4-1. Stastny and Brunette help work magic on two goals (with help from linemate Jaroslav Hlinka), and Dallas gets one from Jeff Halpern. The real back-breaker, however, is Colorado's Wojtek Wolski slipping a shot past Turco at the 16:55 mark.
Colorado 4, Stars 1
3rd period: The Stars make a valiant comeback attempt with power-play goals from Niklas Hagman and Jussi Jokinen. They even have a few nice swipes at the puck with the extra skater in the final minute. However, they cannot overcome their earlier sloppiness.
