2-2 draw keeps FC Dallas' Hyndman winless in MLS play

Conor Casey scored in the 67th minute to help Colorado tie FC Dallas, 2-2, on Saturday night. With the draw, FC Dallas' Schellas Hyndman remained winless (0-1-3) in four MLS games since taking over as coach.

FC Dallas' attacking strategy was fairly two-dimensional before coach Schellas Hyndman took charge last month. The team relied almost exclusively on Kenny Cooper, but that could be about to change.

FBI: Soccer team members help subdue man on flight
An American Airlines flight from Boston to Los Angeles was diverted to Oklahoma City on Friday after a passenger stripped, put his clothes back on and then tried to open an emergency exit door before being subdued by members of a pro soccer team and others, the FBI said.

FC Dallas midfielder Juan Toja confirmed on Thursday that European club Steaua Bucharest is interested in bringing him to the Romanian soccer league. “Yes, there has been contact with an offer to FC Dallas”, said Toja.

FC Dallas midfielder Dax McCarty may wake up with some butterflies in his stomach today, when U.S. men's Olympic coach Peter Nowak announces his 18-player roster at noon. "Definitely, I am a little anxious," McCarty said after Wednesday's practice at Pizza Hut Park.

Amy Rodriguez scored in the 71st minute to give the U.S. women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Brazil in an exhibition match Sunday. The two teams meet again Wednesday in San Diego in their last match before the Olympics start next month in Beijing.

El Salvador, Jamaica to meet in friendly at Pizza Hut Park
El Salvador and Jamaica will meet July 26 in an international friendly at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, the park's spokesman, German Sferra, confirmed.

Former FC Dallas star Kreis suspended by MLS
Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis was suspended for the second time this season by MLS, which banned him for two games and fined him $2,000 Thursday for publicly criticizing officials.

FC Dallas striker Kenny Cooper was voted to the MLS All-Star First XI, the league announced Thursday. The First XI received the most votes at their respective positions from fans, players, media and coaches/general managers. The MLS All-Stars will take on English Premier League team West Ham United on July 24 at BMO Field in Toronto.

FC Dallas ran out of juice in the quarterfinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Charleston Battery claimed a convincing 3-1 victory Tuesday night at Pizza Hut Park, eliminating FC Dallas from the competition in front of an announced crowd of 5,911.

FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman, whose team plays Charleston tonight (7:30 p.m., Ch. 52) in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, says forward Abe Thompson "gives what every coach wants, an end product." But Hyndman isn't happy with the production of some of his veteran players.

Abe Thompson is making a habit of beating the clock, and in doing so, saving the day for FC Dallas. Thompson's header in the 92nd minute gave FC Dallas a 1-1 tie against Kansas City Wizards on Friday at Pizza Hut Park.

Emerson Hyndman likes to eat lasagna and play video games. He hates spinach and doesn't want a girlfriend. And just like many 12-year-olds, the Plano boy likes to watch his favorite sport, soccer, on TV and dream about becoming a professional athlete. But he is no ordinary boy.
