By JORDAN MASON / The Dallas Morning News

The Shockers of the South Grand Prairie YMCA posted a 7-1 record, the best in their 10-12 division, this spring.

Twelve-year-old Jamel Williams scored 16 goals in his first season playing the sport. Williams was one of two Hurricane Katrina evacuees to play on the team, along with his cousin, Sydney Hewitt.

The team comprised eight girls and nine boys and was coached by Cliff Edwards.
