If the Dallas Stars, the team that played with bravado and arrogance in the first two rounds of the playoffs don't show up in a hurry, the Western Conference finals will end in four games, Jean-Jacques Taylor writes.

Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington's job status has been in limbo since the Rangers lost 12 of 14 games and fell to 7-16 on April 24 after being swept at Detroit. But Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said the topic wouldn't be revisited until the All-Star break – at the earliest.

Greg Ellis is tired of the criticism directed at Dallas Cowboys teammate Roy Williams. Ellis, the veteran outside linebacker, said he's heard the perception of fans and media that Williams, a strong safety, is a liability in pass coverage and the team should cut or trade him.

The Dallas Mavericks, Rick Carlisle and his agent were working out details of a contract agreement Thursday night. An expected news conference today may be pushed back to allow for the deal to be completed. But there are no serious snags, meaning Carlisle is on schedule to become the team's new coach.
