A chance of inclement weather forced a time change for Friday’s Class 3A Division II Region I final at Dallas’ Kincaide Stadium.

Kickoff for the playoff game between Argyle and Gladewater has been moved up to 6 p.m., according to Argyle head coach Todd Rodgers. The game was previously scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

Many other area games have been rescheduled or moved up because of the anticipated weather for the weekend.

As of Wednesday evening, the National Weather Service forecasted a 90 percent chance of freezing rain during the day Friday, tapering off to 20 percent chance of freezing rain and sleet on Friday night. A chance of freezing rain and sleet is also projected through Monday.

In the Class 4A Division I Region I final, Guyer faces Birdville at 2 p.m. Saturday at Justin Northwest.

In the Class 5A Division II Region I final, Ryan plays Cedar Hill at 2 p.m. Saturday at Apogee Stadium.

According to Denton ISD athletic director Ken Purcell, Ryan and Guyer will play on Monday at 2 p.m. at the same locations if the teams can’t play their respective games on Saturday. That determination will be based on Saturday’s road conditions and the ability of team buses to safely travel.

“If the roads are clear and the teams can safely make it to Apogee Stadium and [Justin] Northwest, then we’ll play,” Purcell said.
