SNYDER — Argyle scored 35 first-quarter points and breezed to a 56-21 win against Snyder in a Class 4A Division 1 bi-district  playoff game Friday at Tiger Stadium.

The Eagles (11-0) added two touchdowns during the second quarter for the 49-0 halftime lead and played reserves in the second half.

Quarterback Hayden Clearman completed 6 of 8 passes for 120 yards. Don Williams rushed for 103 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Argyle held Snyder (2-9) to 65 yards in the first half as the Tigers never crossed midfield.

"We played well," Argyle coach Todd Rodgers said. "I was pleased with our execution on offense and defense. It was fun to be a part of this game. We did things well with good passing, running and defense. I also was pleased how the younger players progressed. First-round games can be tricky, especially managing the trip to Snyder, but everything turned out well."

Argyle scored on all its four possessions during the first quarter and had a defensive touchdown. Williams had touchdown runs of 3 and 4 yards, and Clearman scored on a 4-yard carry. Noah Lang ran 82 yards for a touchdown, and Blake Burnett returned a fumble 60 yards for a score.

In the second quarter, Lang scored on a 5-yard carry and Alex Gonzalez had a 3-yard run for the 49-0 halftime lead.

Snyder scored on its first possession of the third quarter, a 2-yard touchdown run by J.J. Burns. Bo Hogeboom completed an 8-yard touchdown pass to Gonzales for a 56-7 Argyle lead going into the fourth quarter.

Snyder scored twice during the final frame. Nathan Kendrick had a 90-yard touchdown run and passed 5 yards to Jake Chavez for a touchdown.

Argyle will play Levelland in the area round at a site and date to be announced.
